Bloompton College launched the UK National Work Framework (NCF) to enhance the wine industry.
NCF, which was established in 2022 and was completed in 2024, is a cooperative effort between Bloompton College, Vintns and industry professionals.
It is supported by GB wine.
The framework aims to determine the basic skills and competencies necessary to work effectively in the UK's wine industry.
It sets clear criteria and paths of progress for different skills levels, from advanced principles to advanced principles through grape practices, winery, and doors of the basement.
“The creation of the national competence framework (NCF) is a strategic step towards ensuring long -term success of the UK wine industry,” said Sam Linter, the wine director at Blumpton College.
“We realize that this future growth depends greatly on attracting, re -training and developing skilled workforce.
“Instead of continuing to develop short courses or online training programs in a person on a dedicated basis, we felt that the correct long -term strategic solution for the sector is to develop a national framework to inform a systematic approach to a new wine training program.”
NCF aims to enhance professional excellence and efficiency in this industry.
“Wine GB expects that by 2040, the UK's wine industry will produce more than 40 million bottles of wine.
“NCF is ready to educate and train individuals on this expansion, as it plays a pivotal role in paving the way for the UK to appear as a prominent player in the global wine market, and Vintns is proud to support this educational initiative.”
“We were pleased to support the development of the national competence framework, which is an essential part of the maps that constitute the rapid growth of people who join the wine scene in the UK,” said Winegb.
“This is an important reference point in the industry that sets clear standards, skills and behaviors necessary for the various roles in our sector.
“The Bloompton College’s work was forward, and the frame was pivotal.
“We are proud to support the frame and be grateful to our members to share their experience to help develop this comprehensive resource.”
Bloompton College is looking to expand its regional sites and explore online education formats to enhance access and wine education quality.
Additional courses are scheduled to be presented in the coming years to meet industry demands.
