wine intelligence
Who has the highest wine IQ? This wine quiz contains 400 multiple choice questions on cards, which should help you pass some games.
In the second round, the questions are then read out with a few words, making this game more than just a regular question and answer game.
Teams score positive or negative IQ points, and the results are recorded on “IQ charts.” Although this game is for teams, the rules can also be modified to suit groups of just two or three players.
Questions include, “Which country has the highest per capita wine consumption?” and “Why is there no Chianti in the cellar of the Elysee Palace?”

Next up on our list of wine games is a game simply called “The Wine Game.” It features two decks of cards—one for red wine and one for white wine—both beautifully illustrated. These games cover the major wine-producing regions, as well as some lesser-known ones.
Much like the card game Happy Families, the goal is to get four “wine family” cards, such as those from the same country or region. The winner is whoever has the most “families” at the end.
The accompanying booklet provides descriptions of the wines and regions, helping you learn more as you play.
Some Blinders

Among the wine games listed here, this is the one that involves blind wine tasting and is from the makers of SOMM Films.
A checklist is provided to help you purchase the right bottles, although the game's inventors recommend pouring small amounts and using a spit.
The main objective is to collect cards that correctly describe the wine, although its identity is hidden from everyone except the dealer in that round. Things are kept interesting by elements such as “stealing cards”, which can be used to take a random card from another player.
Choose from the original set or versions that focus on white or red wine. This game might be good for anyone with upcoming tastings. It's also another beautifully illustrated game that you can also buy as prints or other gifts.
Wine World Trivia Game

If you can answer all the questions, you can purchase an additional set of cards with more questions. Test your knowledge with some of the questions in our quiz.
Cork
It's not a wine game as such, and there's no need to even mention wine, but Corks has been described as “fast and exciting” and looks more than capable of adding a bit of fun to an afternoon or evening.
Players have to try to get a set of four identical corks, then they can grab a cork from the middle of the table. The other players also have to try to grab a cork from the middle, but there won't be enough for everyone…
