With wine flying off supermarket shelves in recent weeks and with people turning to ordering everything, including wine, online, who are the best online wine merchants offering what many consider a staple? With the possibility of a nationwide shutdown to include wine warehouses and couriers, it makes sense to receive your wine orders now. None of the five merchants below require minimum order or membership fees.

Boutique wine merchant in the UK Wanderlust says they've already seen a 200% increase in sales this month and are offering a 5% discount on their entire range until March 22nd. Wanderlust was launched in 2015 to showcase new wines, new regions and new wine styles. By working with small producers, they have been able to focus on importing sustainably grown wines, often certified organic and biodynamic. Wanderlust has exclusive UK distribution rights to what is claimed to be “the world’s healthiest red wine” which is believed to aid cardiovascular health. Hedonism Wines has seen a huge rise in orders with online sales up 60% this month. They are delivering as usual in London and nationwide and are continuing to ship internationally so people who are self-isolating or prefer not to go out can take full advantage of this service. Founded in 2012 in Mayfair, London, this wine shop has a reputation as one of the best fine wine distributors in the UK. Most of their stock is stored in a spacious basement beneath the London restaurant Hide, a joint project between Hedonism and celebrity chef Olly Dabbous. It includes around 6,500 wines and 3,000 spirits, sourced by expert buyers who carefully examine the provenance of each bottle. The basement is a storeroom Classics like The Macallan 1946 Select Reserve and more A rare Mouton Rothschild '45, along with reasonably priced bottles in the £10 range.
