Former Married At First Sight UK star Adrian Anderson has hailed rosé as a great alternative to the popular Whispering Angel. While showing off a bottle of M&S Bardolino Chiaretto Rose La Fioritura, Adrian described the wine as “worth every penny”.
He even claims that if he was told a wine was £40, he would believe it. In a TikTok video from June, Adrian said: “M&S said they were trying to copy Whispering Angel, but they said it themselves.”
A 75ml bottle of M&S Bardolino Chiaretto Rose La Fioritura costs £8. That’s around £10 cheaper than a bottle of Whispering Angel, which retails for between £17.99 and £22.99 in your local supermarket.
“Straight out of the bottle, it’s a great drink to drink,” Adrian added. “It’s £8 and it’s worth every penny. I think the main thing I’d say is that it’s easy.
“I googled this wine, and I think it goes well with seafood, wine, and pasta, and I agree. I am a huge fan of this wine. I have only bought one bottle.”
“I would say it walks the same lines of being pure and clean and fresh, and all those beautiful notes that Whispering Angel has. It's not as colorful as Whispering Angel but that doesn't mean that's not necessarily a good thing. I think I prefer this one,” he added.
Marks & Spencer’s rosé wine is produced in Italy’s Bardolino region, known for its fertile hillside soils, which help give the grapes a fresh flavour. The retailer recommends it with antipasti, fish and salads, and is made with fruity flavours of peach and raspberry.
Adrian's video has been viewed over 24,400 times, with 545 likes and 10 comments. Sarah seemed impressed by the cheap liquor, saying: “I'll have it.”
“On my way to Marks & Spencer,” said Mum Large. “I need to try it! I’m obsessed with the Aldi knockoffs,” said Georgia.
M&S Bardolino Chiaretto Rose La Fioritura can be purchased in M&S stores and online at Ocado.
