Tom Gilby has tested the best pink wines for celebrities, including Gary Barlow and Kylie Minogue.
British wine connoisseur Tom Gilbey, known for his unique feat of sipping wine every mile during the London Marathon, has boldly declared that he “can't serve” a particular celebrity rosé despite it receiving five-star reviews. In a recent TikTok video, Tom put two rosés to the test: Gary Barlow's Organic Rosé and Kylie Minogue's Signature Rosé 2023.
With summer in full swing, Tom has declared himself “knee deep” in rosé season and ready to deliver his verdict on these iconic wines, reports Wales Online. When sampling Kylie's rosé, Tom was impressed by its colour, and said: “Firstly, Kylie. I love the colour, it's coral pink, salmon pink, all day long. It's strawberry on the nose, very fresh. It's short, simple and fruity, a little bit like you, oh Kylie.

Turning his attention to Gary Barlow's presentation, Tom immediately commented on his deep pink shade. “You're more expensive by a pound,” he said, “but you're very cheap, and you're organic. So, your color is really, really deep… and I have more ripeness, kind of more peach and strawberry on the nose.”
“It's a bit richer. And Gary, my friend, you've given a really good rose. I think your rose, like your concerts, might get a five-star review in the Guardian.”
However, Tom concluded with a controversial comment: “But mate, I can't serve pink wine that color and I know I'll be torn over it. But rosé for me, salmon pink, coral pink, fruity like that.” Kylie every day.”
Tom's video has gone viral, racking up more than 44,100 views, garnering 3,060 likes and sparking 38 comments so far. Wine lovers were quick to weigh in with their opinions on the celebrity rosé in the comments section.
Maureen McGuire said: “Gary Barlow all day long. I love it. It makes me feel high. In fact, I feel more than drunk. Whatever I do, whatever I say, I don't mean it.” “Rosie must be very light, it's almost obvious to me,” said Rosie.
Meanwhile, Ian Hughes added: “Yes, I stay away from dark pink things, because they're usually too sweet. And even if they weren't, my brain would tell me they were.”
However, not everyone was in agreement, as TikTok user, Big Boy jacko, said: “I can't support you here Mr Gilby, some of the best roses are deep in colour, they're intensely fruity, more complex… you're in trouble.” A stance to fight stigma that's dark and sweet, but you throw it away.”
Jenny added: “I've tried both and hated both!” Callie78 had a particularly telling description: “OMG….Gary Barlow looks like he's been diluted with Vimto.”
